Election Results In
Election results are in with 28 of 31 eligible voters responding. Region 7 would like to congratulate our new Director, Lollie Ames. Ames brings years of experience with an honest and straight-forward approach—she will represent Region 7 well. Ames will be ably supported by Vice Director, Bruce Johnson. Both new officers have experience on the registration commission as well. The Secretary/Treasurer position will be filled by Sharon Chauncey-Siar. All three new officers have many years of experience contributing at the highest levels of AHA. Region 7 is fortunate to have these veterans of the Arabian breed available to offer strong leadership from Region 7. A special thanks to the years of service for our outgoing officers, Janice McCrea-Wight, Vice Director and Howard Shenk, Secretary/Treasurer. Both gave unselfishly many hours over the past four years to our Region and were a great support. Also, many thanks to our Judges Selection Commissioners and our Show Commissioners. We are fortunate to have a nice mix of new and veteran experience in both of these important commissions going forward. Thanks to all who ran for office. If you did not make it, there are still many slots to fill and I know the new officers will be calling on you.
Important Dates
There are many important dates coming up, none more important than those with respect to delegate nominations and registration as well as convention registration. Please be sure all paperwork for these important positions are in order and submitted in a timely manner. Visit www.aha7.org for more information.

John White Perpetual Trophy for HA/AA English Pleasure announced at Region XI Show
At the 33rd Annual Region XI Championship Show, Mike Neal asked to say a few words in memory of John White who sadly passed away earlier this year. Mike spoke on behalf of a group of John's friends and colleagues in the Arabian horse community who wanted to find a way to memorialize John. Many of them agreed that their most vivid memory of John was of him showing Bette G in Half-Arabian English Pleasure. They have initiated a project to create a perpetual memorial trophy for this class at the Region XI Show, beginning in 2010. The class winner each year will be affixed to the trophy. A bronze statue of Bette G will be provided by artist Debbie Fields and artist Sherry Akers will create a bronze of John riding to be added. For more information or to participate in this endeavor please contact Mike Neal at 262-745-5151 or mikenealarabiancenter@hotmail.com.
