Dear Trail Ride Enthusiast,

I would once again like to invite you to this year's Fort Robinson Trail Riding Vacation at Fort Robinson State Park in Crawford, Nebraska, September 16-20, 2009. The ride is such an affordable way to spend a few days with your horse! The total cost for an AHA member is $455. Not a current member? Don't worry. AHA membership is only $25. The ride cost includes five days of housing for yourself, a stall for your horse, three home cooked meals a day, and all the riding you can handle. What more could you ask for? It's not too late to sign up for this vacation. Don't be left out of the fun!

Ruth Denney had this to say about her trip last year:

During our time at Fort Robinson, we caught up with old friends and made a few new ones. If you ever need some inspiration, remind yourself that there were at least three riders over the age of 70, including Carlton, who got up the stomach to sit with us at dinner. The first day was spent riding up and down hills, through water, despite my horse, Beau's, best efforts otherwise, and that night we experienced team penning! Beau had a blast.

Saturday we went on a cattle drive! We all broke off into smaller groups, fanning out behind the 30 or so head of cattle. One group pushed them down and the rest of us (mostly the flatlanders who had stayed on the easy terrain) kept them heading toward the gate and the road. Again, Beau had a blast.

There aren't many ways to top a day like that, but Sunday's breakfast on the bluffs will never let you down. The pancakes were enormous and the ham was smoky good. And the scenery? Oh yeah, breathtaking as always. What a perfect way to spend a morning--and guess who had a blast?

More information such as the Registration Form and Tentative Schedule can be found at www.arabianhorses.org/trailride. Or you can call me at 303-696-4531. I'd love to talk to you more about the fun to be expected at the Fort.

Hope to see you in September!
