Dear Trail Ride Enthusiast,

This year marks the fifth anniversary of the Fort Robinson Trail Ride Vacation. It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that I cordially invite you to join me for the ride, September 16-20, 2009. If you are receiving this letter you have indicated your interest in trail riding and if you have not yet experienced Fort Robinson-riding there is an incredible experience. I got a letter from Lori Murga, one of last year's participants, who does a wonderful job of putting the experience into words:

It's hard to believe as I sit here, looking at pictures, that our long awaited trail ride at Fort Robinson is over. I still get chills of excitement every time I look through the pictures of that week. It was a week of inner growth, bonding with our horses, admiring nature, and making long lasting friendships.
The Fort itself is a cosmic overload of history. Each building at Fort Robinson is architecturally beautiful and well preserved. Learning about the Fort's equine hospital and how many horses called the Fort home through the years, made me appreciate the opportunity to bring my horse here and ride.
Everyone on the ride was friendly and willing to lend a helping hand whether experienced or a novice rider. And our fearless trail hands were quiet with a take-charge attitude. They made us feel like we could do anything all week through their encouragement and expertise. One day we drove longhorn cattle from the mountains to the winter pasture about five miles away. It was so much fun to watch our horses work the cows. Who would have thought that some show ponies from Iowa could drive cattle?
I feel like we've become part of the Fort Robinson family. They are some great people who take special care to make sure your experience is one to remember.
                                                                                                                                    -Lori Murga

I hope that this is the year you can give yourself the treat that Lori did in 2008. Please let us hear from you soon, September is just around the corner.

Sincerely,
Leigh Ann Corey
