Half-Arabian, Adams Fire, is a finalist for United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) 2008 Horse of the Year. Adams Fire, owned by Starline Arabians LLC and trained by Joel Keisner, has earned a string of U.S. National Championships, beginning in 2005 as a junior horse. Between appearances at U.S. Nationals, Youth Nationals and Canadian Nationals, Adams Fire holds eight national titles-seven in English pleasure and one in pleasure driving. Jim Stachowski of Mantua, Ohio, and Brett Becker of Grass Valley, Calif. have both been named USEF Equestrians of Honor for 2008, but Equestrian of the Year has yet to be decided. Stachowski will receive the C.J. "June" Cronan Jr. Trophy, which goes to the "rider, driver or handler of any horse or pony breed shown under saddle in non-hunter and or non-western disciplines," according to USEF. Becker will receive the Barbara Worth Oakford Trophy, which goes to the "rider, driver or handler of any horse or pony breed shown in a non-reining western discipline."
