It’s recommended that anyone bringing horses to Sport Horse Nationals vaccinate them against West Nile Virus if they haven’t already. A few cases have been reported in and around the Nampa, Idaho, area. Veterinarians in the town of Nampa have treated only one mild case, and surrounding counties have sprayed for mosquitoes. While no mosquitoes have been seen at the horse park, the facility is taking the extra precaution of power washing all stalls. Be sure to act quickly if you plan to vaccinate as the shots need some time to take effect.
