Saturday, September 24 Virginia Horse Center, Lexington, VA $10 Day Pass (includes all activities and clinics) Official Flyer – Celebration of Arabian Sport Horse (pdf) In just its 3rd year, the Arabian Sport Horse Nationals showcases the agility, trainability, versatility and beauty of the Arabian Sport Horse. It has provided a playground for Arabian competitors to compete as a single breed under standards of the open sport horse world, turning heads of educated horsemen around the globe. Honoring this achievement, the 2005 Sport Horse Nationals will be hosting Celebration of Arabian Sport Horse, a spectacular day of education and entertainment on Saturday, September 24. Its anticipation is drawing regional and national media attention, as well as Olympic equestrian greats David O’Connor (eventing) and Hilda Gurney (dressage). Activities begin with O’Connor and Gurney presenting public clinics in the disciplines of hunter/jumper and dressage respectively in the afternoon (along with meet-and-greet book signings). Education turns entertainment in the evening with the "Horse Illustrated Sport Horse Spectacular & Jumper Mini-Prix," featuring spellbinding renditions of extraordinary Arabian and Half-/Anglo-Arabian sport horses as well as the always-exciting Jumper Mini-Prix. The Arabian Horse Association (AHA) is a 46,000 member equine association that registers and maintains a database of more then one million Arabian, Half-Arabian and Anglo-Arabian horses. It publishes the bimonthly Arabian Horse Magazine, provides activities and programs that promote breeding and ownership, administers $4 million in annual prize money, produces national events and recognizes more than 400 Arabian horse shows and distance rides.
