Sweepstakes Program Deadline
Don't miss the chance to nominate your in-utero foal for the only cash incentive program where you have the opportunity to win prize money at more than 500 AHA Recognized Events throughout the U.S. and Canada. As the Breeder/Nominator, you will receive 10% of the resulting foal's point earnings for the life of that horse.
In-Utero Enrollments can still be made with an additional $100 late fee if it is postmarked/electronic transaction dated no later than February 15, 2009. Nominations postmarked/electronic transaction dated after February 15, 2009 will not be accepted in the Breeders Sweepstakes Program.
Halter Futurity Enrollments
Your 2009 foals can still be enrolled for U.S. and Canadian Halter Futurities if they are postmarked/electronic transaction dated no later than February 15, 2009. The enrollment fee is $145 per horse/per country (includes the $100 late enrollment fee). Nominations postmarked/electronic transaction dated after February 15, 2009 will not be accepted into the Halter Futurity Program.
Halter Futurity Renominations
Your 2008 Halter Futurity Renominations can still be made with an additional $100 late fee per horse/per country if postmarked/electronic transaction dated no later than March 31, 2009.
Send in Your Stallion Reports
Be sure to send AHA a Stallion Report for each purebred Arabian mare that was bred in 2008. These reports are due by December 31 of the breeding year, but we are still accepting them for 2008 without a late fee. You can download your Stallion Report by clicking here. Do AHA Business at the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show
The Arabian Horse Association will take your un-mailed stallion reports, registration applications, membership renewals and transfers at the AHA booth in Scottsdale. Just stop by the AHA booth in Tent One at Westworld to turn in your unfinished transactions. No rushes, please. 2008 Sweepstakes Prize Money Payout
Sweepstakes Prize money for the 2008 competition year is being issued. Your check should be arriving in the mail soon (provided all payout requirements have been met). Please review your check and if you have questions or a discrepancy in the payment, please submit your request in writing and either fax it to 303-696-4599 or email it to sweepstakes@arabianhorses.org. Chase TheWind AH Wins 2008 Distance Horse of the Year
The Arabian Horse Association (AHA) is proud to name purebred Arabian gelding, Chase TheWind AH (El Paso x Wind Sonja), owned by Suzanne Ford Huff of Gardnerville, Nev. as its 2008 Distance Horse of the Year. As we near the Arabian Horse Galleries' fundraising climax, the Arabian Horse Galleries "Scottsdale $200K Challenge- Show Your World You Care" campaign will be honoring all donations to the Arabian Horse Galleries during the 2009 Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show in Scottsdale, Ariz. (February 12-22) by recognizing pledges* on two special occasions:
Show Your World You Care about the Arabian Horse Galleries-make your pledge during the "Scottsdale $200K Challenge" to help assure the Galleries' legacy as the supreme showcase for the Arabian horse. (*Gifts of $1,000 or higher grant permanent recognition on the Donor Wall inside the Galleries)
Halter Futurity Processing Fees
Effective April 1, 2009, the one-time processing fee for Halter Futurity Nominations per horse/per country will increase from $15 to $30. This is the first fee increase for this program in 20 years.
Performance Futurity/Maturity Processing Fees
Effective April 1, 2009, the one-time processing fee per class for Performance Futurity/Maturity will increase from $15 to $30. This is the first fee increase for this program in 10 years.

Racing Seminar at Arabian Racing Cup Year-End Darley Awards
The Arabian Jockey Club and the Texas Arabian Breeders Assoc. will hold a Racing Seminar during the annual Arabian Racing Cup Year-End Darley Awards at Retama Park in San Antonio, Texas. The Seminar will be from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Friday February 27, 2009 at the Turf & Field Club. Expert guests will include a Veterinarian, a race trainer and James Leatherman, Racing Secretary at Retama Park. All are invited and encouraged to attend.
