UPDATES
Having Trouble Accessing the AHA Website?

If you are experiencing difficulty accessing the Arabian Horse Association website lately, it is due to a widespread disruption that many businesses, including AHA, are experiencing. It is particularly noticeable in the incentive program and marketplace sections of the site where you may not be able to view data or complete transactions.

The culprit is an attack called an "SQL Injection" wherein automated code plants a command in a website entry field. As soon as any user accesses that field, the command triggers and promptly injects bogus data into the database. Once that happens, and subsequent users try to view data via the web, the data no longer matches what should be displayed, and users are unable to see complete pages or accurate data.

The IT team is actively monitoring for and protecting vulnerable web pages to prevent additional injections, while continually cleaning data that has been compromised. As the cleanup continues, the rate of injection has been significantly reduced.

We continue to monitor and repair daily. Thank you for your patience.

Working Hunter and Jumper Classes

There are new and exciting changes in our Hunter/Jumper divisions for the 2008 competition year!
  • Low Jumpers is a separate class, not an extension as currently listed. The proper class number will be available in the on-line AHA Handbook soon.
  • Modified Hunter is for ATR/AOTR/JTR/JOTR only and is now listed correctly in the on-line AHA Handbook.
  • Pony Hunter is an AHA-approved class. PB (Class #276) and (HA/AA Class #721) are open to stallions and adults. Refer to USEF Hunter Pony Section for other specifications. Ponies must have a valid USEF Pony Measurement Card prior to entry. (Show Managers: Please list this requirement in your show prize list unless you hire a combination steward that is trained to measure.)
  • Modified Pony Hunter may be offered at 2'3"-2'6" but is ATR/AOTR/JTR/JOTR only. All pony sizes should be combined in this class.
  • Open Working Hunter fence height of 3'-3'3" is now correct in the on-line AHA Handbook.
  • To increase entries in Over Fences classes, USEF offers "Opportunity" classes that are open to all breeds even at breed-specific shows. These classes are non-USEF rated and are thereby exempt from USEF/AHA fees, with the exception of the drug fee.
  • Open Hunter/Jumper shows can hold Arabian Sport Horse and Hunter/Jumper class sections at their USEF Regular Member shows. Points earned in the Arabian Sport Horse and Hunter/Jumper sections can count toward Achievement Awards and Regional/National qualifications with the proper AHA approval.
Contact H/J Committee Chair Laura Wood at (352) 293-6626 for more information.

The post office will not forward replacement copies of the magazine to you under the Periodical Mailing Permit that we currently have. Further, we only have a limited supply of extra magazines to replace those issues that do not reach you. Returned mail due to incorrect or unreported change of addresses cost the magazine and the Association tens of thousands of dollars annually. If you are a current member of AHA please make sure we have your current mailing address. If you are not sure that we have your current address, please contact AHA Customer Service at (303) 696-4500 or info@arabianhorses.org.
