Kudos to USEF Award Winners
Congratulations are in order for several individuals and one great horse who earned significant 2007 honors from USEF.
Kirsten Kimbler was named both Junior Equestrian of the Year and received the Youth Sportsman's Award from USEF. To read more about her accomplishments, click here. Two Equestrian of Honor nominees are halter trainer Andrew Sellman, winner of the Norman K. Dunn Trophy, and performance trainer Stanley White, Jr., who won the Barbara Worth Oakford Trophy. This annual program allows competitors to earn prize money based on points earned in designated Sweepstakes classes at local, regional and national shows and distance rides throughout the calendar year. Drinkers of the Wind and Daughters of the Desert Ready for the Gate
The top Arabian horses from Texas and Delaware have made their way to Los Alamitos to be part of the prestigious Drinkers of the Wind Derby and Daughters of the Desert Oaks at six furlongs. Both stakes finals will be contested on January 26. The trials to each of these prolific races will be contested on Thursday, with 11 horses competing in one Drinkers trial while 14 fillies will be split into two Daughters trials.
