Fifth Sport Horse Nationals Revs Up
From September 26-30, the fifth Sport Horse Nationals will return to Lexington, Va. If you're in the area, don't miss it. Come to the Progressive Barn Party on Thursday, September 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. to mingle in the barn aisles, sip wine and listen to great jazz provided by the University of Virginia Faculty jazz quintet. The Centennial 100 - Your Vote Counts!!
More than 1,000 responses have come in already, so be sure to get your vote in! Simply answer what horses, people, events and innovations have shaped the Arabian horse and the Arabian horse community during the past 100 years since the Arabian Horse Club of America was founded in 1908? We want your list! Send in 1, 10 or 100 of your best opinions on what has made the Arabian horse and the Arabian horse industry what it is today.
Then, in the December/January issue of Modern Arabian Horse and continuing throughout 2008, we'll count down the Top 100 most influential and significant horses, people, events and innovations as submitted by you - the members of AHA. Nominate Your Favorite Groom
Do you know a groom who deserves special recognition for outstanding work? If so, nominate him or her for the 2007 Modern Arabian Horse Groomer of the Year Award. All you have to do is write a letter between 250-300 words explaining why the groom is deserving of this honor. Include your and the groom's name, address and contact information. All grooms nominated will receive a certificate of excellence, and all finalists will also receive an embroidered Modern Arabian Horse jacket. October 1 is the deadline for USDF All Breed Year-End Awards. Remember, you have to enroll your horse with AHA in order to qualify for this award. New for 2007 is the addition of Junior Rider, Adult Amateur and Vintage USDF Award categories in addition to Open. 2007 Winter Exhibitor/Judges School and Evaluation
Exhibitor/Judges Schools are for both prospective judges and exhibitors who want to sharpen their skills by learning how they are viewed and evaluated by judges. Classroom instruction and live judging make the experience valuable to both exhibitors and potential judges. Classroom sessions will be held at the Renaissance Denver Hotel with live judging at the Colorado Arabian Horse Club Christmas Show, held in a comfortable indoor heated arena. Challenge yourself and improve your skills. Attend the 2007 Fall Exhibitor/Judges School in Denver, Colo., on December 6-8, 2007. The Denver School is always a popular one and space is limited.
