Triple Crown Update

Unlike in 2005 when Dianne Waldron's TH Richie swept the Arabian Racing Cup's Triple Crown, there will be no such victor this year. Frynge Benefit (also owned by Waldron) won the first leg, the $100,000 Drinkers of the Wind Derby (G1). However, he finished third behind Southern Arabian Racing's Tour De France in the Texas Six Shooter (G3). These two will likely see if one could win 2 out of 3 when the Triple Crown wraps up in the Bob Magness Derby (G2) at Delaware Park in July.

On the feminine side, a slight injury kept Daughters of the Desert Oaks (G1) heroine Love Me Dew out of the second leg, the Texas Yellow Rose (G3). Instead, it was Bill and Cathy Waldron's Darley Champion Filly Cath who surged to victory. This was the undefeated filly's first start of the year. The fillies will finish their Triple Crown campaign with the Cre Run Oaks (G2) also at Delaware Park.

To follow all the excitement Arabian racing has to offer, check out ArabianRacingCup.com. We'll see you at the races!
