AHA Fort Robinson Trail Ride Registration Now Open
Extended one additional day, the “Old West” comes alive at Fort Robinson for the 2nd Annual AHA Fort Robinson Trail Ride September 27-October 1, 2006, now accepting registrations! Cost is $350 for AHA members/ $400 for non-members and includes full-service accommodations in historic officer’s quarters, gourmet western meals, covered horse stalls for each horse and 3-6 hour trail rides each day. Cowgirl Hall of Fame inductee Sheila Varian will be on hand again as the Official Trail Ride clinician to offer guidance both on and off the trail. You can now enroll your Sweepstakes horses online for the NEW Points Payout program. This new annual program allows competitors to earn prize money based on points earned in designated Sweepstakes classes at local, regional and national shows and distance rides throughout the calendar year. Note: This is the only prize money program available to horses competing in local shows and distance rides! Task Force Solicits Your Input
The Resolution 5-90 Overview Study Task Force, appointed by President Myron Krause, includes Committee Chair Howard Pike and members Bill Hughes, Chris Culbreth, Alan Ehrlick and Eric Wolfe. They would appreciate any feedback members have relating to the Office of the Judges and Stewards Commissioner. The Office is responsible for educational and evaluation programs related to AHA Judges and Stewards, as well as educational programs for exhibitors. The Task Force meets in March and will evaluate responses submitted to the following mailbox: comments@ArabianHorses.org.

The grace period to re-nominate your already enrolled Halter Futurity horse ends March 31. For an additional $100 per horse per country, you can maintain your horse’s eligibility to compete as a three year old in Canadian and/or U.S. Nationals Halter Futurities classes. TBR Granite Chief+/ named Distance Horse of the Year
The second winner of the AHA Distance Horse of the Year was awarded to TBR Granite Chief+/, an Arabian gelding owned by Karen Chaton, Gardnerville, Nev. In 2004 and 2005, he was the AERC National Mileage Champion with 2,135 miles and 2,245 miles respectively. He is the only Arabian to have completed 2000 or more miles in a single ride season. He received the 2004 Wendell Robie Trophy for the XP Horse of the Year. As the AHA Distance Horse of the Year, TBR Granite Chief+/ will have his name engraved on a perpetual trophy designed by Joe Staheli and donated by the Arabian Horse Owners Foundation (AHOF). USDF All Breeds Awards Announced
USDF has announced the winners of their year-end All Breeds Awards. AHA and USDF team up yearly to recognize Arabian, Half-Arabian and Anglo-Arabian horses that are presented to those horses of a particular breed that have achieved the highest scores in AHA recognized and open shows.
