Triple Crown Wrap Up
With an authoritative win, Dianne Waldron's TH Richie (Calin De Loup x Char Rich Louise) won the Bob Magness Derby (G1) on July 4, and along with it the Arabian Triple Crown sponsored by Markel/Pratt Insurance. He already triumphed in the first two legs, the Drinkers of the Wind Derby (G1) and Diamond Derby (G1). This victory is his eighth in a row, and he is undefeated this season. He was bred by William Shively and is trained by Phil E. Saxer, Jr.

In the Cre Run Oaks (G1), contested on July 17, Carol and Lonnie Crowell's AF Guenivere (K A Czbubuthan x Geneza PASB) determinedly held off Dixies Delight for a half-length victory. This was a big step up in class for the chestnut filly trained by Greg Ketter and bred by Suzanne and Rick Flammer. Unlike the colt version, three different fillies won the Triple Crown races. Delphine, owned by Guy Neivens won the Daughters of the Desert Oaks (G1) and Bill Waldron's Dixies Delight won the Sapphire Sprint (G1).
