Triple Crown Update
The second legs of the Arabian Triple Crown series sponsored by Markel/Pratt Insurance, the Diamond Derby (G1) for colts/geldings and the Sapphire Sprint (G1) for fillies, were held on April 2. TH Richie (Calin De Loup x Char Rich Louise), who was victorious in the Drinkers of the Wind Derby (G1) in January, again easily won his race. The handsome chestnut, owned by Dianne Waldron, will go for a sweep of the Triple Crown on July 4 in the Bob Magness Memorial Derby (G1).

Dixie Darlene (Sam Tiki x Dixie Darlene), making her first start in six months, handled the fillies impressively for owner/trainer/breeder Bill Waldron. She will also be traveling to Delaware for the meet with the Cre Run Oaks (G1) as a definite target.
