Arabian Racing Cup Cup Championships a Huge Success
This year celebrated the 10th running of the premier Arabian Racing Cup (ARC) event, the Arabian Cup Championships. They were contested at Delaware Park in Wilmington, Delaware, with purses totaling $405,000. For the first time, the six races were not held on the same day or over the same weekend. The juvenile races, Gladys Brown Edwards (G1) and Arabian Cup Classic (G1) went off on October 16 and 17 while the two sprint races were held on November 6 and 7. The best horses in the country gathered for the event, and many who love the sport came out to cheer these magnificent creatures. The first weekend was very festive with a huge turnout for both the Eastern Arabian Racing Alliance welcoming dinner and the championship dinner on Saturday night. There are many new owners in Arabian racing this year, and they brought a fresh enthusiasm to the events. Results of the six races are as follows:

Arabian Triple Crown Getting Ready to GO!
The ARC Triple Crown sponsored by Markel/Pratt Insurance is gearing up for its first race. The Drinkers of the Wind Derby (G1) and Daughters of the Desert Oaks (G1) will be on Friday, January 21, at Los Alamitos Race Track in Los Alamitos, California. The next races, the Diamond Derby (G1) and Sapphire Sprint (G1), will be at Sam Houston Race Park in Houston, Texas on April 2. The final leg, the Bob Magness Derby (G1) and Cre Run Oaks (G1) will be at Delaware Park in Wilmington, Delaware. Dates for these races are still pending. A $100,000 bonus waits for each Arabian Cup nominated colt and filly that can sweep all three 3 races in a series.

18th Annual Darley Award Ceremony
The Darley Awards celebrates the best in Arabian racing and everyone is invited to attend the festivities! Presented by the ARC and hosted by the Arabian Racing Association of California, this annual weekend will take place on Friday, January 21 and Saturday, January 22, 2005 in Los Alamitos, California. The schedule of events is as follows:

Friday, January 21
5:30 pm - Darley Welcome Reception - $20/$30 after January 14
Drinkers of the Wind Derby (G1), Daughters of the Desert Oaks (G1)


Saturday, January 22
10:00 am - Alibi Brunch - $20/$30 after January 14
6:00 pm to 11:00 pm - Darley Awards Banquet and Ceremony - $75/$100 after January 14
