Horsekeeping: Graze Craze
Is it time for a visit from your vet or equine dentist? Horses need their pearly whites examined once a year. Here's what happens: the vet or dentist will use a device to hold your horse's mouth open and get a good look, then she'll file the teeth even. We call that "floating" the teeth. Yeah, it sounds gross- but it doesn't hurt your horse. In fact, it hurts him more to skip the appointment because he can develop jagged points on his teeth, which keep him from chewing correctly or carrying the bit right. :-O! Get Trigger's teeth examined now, and you'll be ready for your trail rides and shows.
