Learn From the Best, Free Clinics at Youth Nationals

The Arabian Professional and Amateur Horseman's Association (APAHA) will host two free clinics for the public and Youth Nationals exhibitors, Saturday, July 25, 2009, from 2 — 5 p.m. at Expo New Mexico in Albuquerque. The 7th Annual Youth Nationals Horseman's Awards Clinics will feature Andrew Sellman on "Presenting Your Halter Horse in Today's Show Ring" and Vicki Humphrey on "English and Country Pleasure, Be the Best You Can Be."

Sellman is an esteemed Arabian halter trainer and exhibitor who took home a combined 16 Top 10s, Reserve Championships and Championships from the Canadian and U.S. Nationals in 2008. Sellman was the winner of the APAHA Halter Trainer Award in 2008 and was a 2007 United States Equestrian Federation Equestrian of Honor, receiving the Norman K. Dunn trophy.

In 2008, Humphrey earned a Canadian National Championship in Arabian English Pleasure and a U.S. National Championship in Arabian Park Horse, along with a slew of Reserve Championships and Top 10s. Humphrey was awarded the APAHA Saddle Seat Trainer of the Year in 2008 for the seventh time.

APAHA serves the Arabian horse community by encouraging and promoting the joy of showing horses and rewarding excellence through its awards program. The annual APAHA Horsemen's Awards are considered one of the most prestigious honors that can be bestowed on active competitors within the Arabian horse industry.

Exhibitors interested in participating can sign up at the Youth Nationals show office in the Lujan Building B. For more information contact Kathie Hart at vallejoiii@aol.com.
